I’d love to hear your story.
My name is Caterina Scardillo, and I’m a calligrapher, lettering artist, and graphic designer specializing in ancient scripts. I was born in Florence, where I currently work and conduct my research. When I’m not in the city, I happily return to my studio and home in the nearby countryside, sharing the same roof with my partner and our dog.
I am honored to run calligraphy and typography workshops at the graphic design department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, as well as private workshops and calligraphy events for several brands such as Cartier, Pucci, Dior and Bulgari.
I’m passionate about the history of writing, that’s why I earned my master in paleography for my work on Felice Feliciano’s unpublished manuscript and for the analysis of the Littera Antiqua’s development from Tuscany to Veneto.
I now conduct a series of lectures and workshops about the history of florentine calligraphy in collaboration with Pineider, having the wonderful opportunity to work with students all over the world and to keep studying the history of our visual culture.
I’d love to hear your story.
